I'm Erica and I'm the owner and designer for everything you see at Froth & Glaze pottery. I believe that art is all around us waiting to be discovered in the most ordinary moments. I created Froth & Glaze to blend my love of coffee and ceramics. My love for coffee started very early when I used to help my dad make the coffee before school. In 2021-2022, I went to France, Spain and Italy and came back with a new love: ESPRESSO. Fast forward to December of 2022, I started learning how to do latte art. Latte art is created by pouring microfoam into a shot of espresso resulting in a pattern or design on the surface of the latte. I saw latte art was a way to blend the need for that perfectly textured drink with a creative aspect. Latte art is difficult, sometimes frustrating, especially on a home machine! And even more so if you don't have any cafe experience (which I don't!)

In 2023, I made it a goal to be able to enter a latte art contest. I spent every day pouring lattes and practicing my techniques. I watched a lot of videos of great pours and. . . not so great pours. I found that I favored certain cups but each one had something I didn't like. In July 2023, I started learning to make ceramics and decided i was going to design my perfect coffee cup. I saw an opportunity: I took everything I learned over the year and I came up with a cup design with the home barista in mind. I wanted to make latte art fun to learn.
